Hot Summer Fishing on Pipestone Lake
August 7, 2025

Spring fishing on Pipestone Lake was hot. Walleye were biting on purple, chartreuse and Bushman Eddie’s blue dream 1/8 and 1/4 oz jigs. Pink, hammered gold and multi-colour spinners also worked well. Walleye caught ranged in size from 14″ to the Leader Board walleye which is a whopping 31″ to date.

Bass fishing was fantastic. With numerous smallmouth and largemouth bass being caught on top water, ned rigs and the Grande Bass Rattlesnake. Colours ranged from green pumpkin, junebug, watermelon, black and trophy hunter. Spinner baits were effective as well.

Lake trout fishing has been great. With numerous fish caught using swim baits, jigging raps, jigging spoons and vibratos. The largest trout caught and released this season is a chunky 35″er.

Northern Pike have been plentiful and active in the shallow bay and are now making their way to the deeper weed beds. Spinner baits, Mepps spinners and some caught on live bait while walleye fishing. The leader so far, caught and released is 37″.

Muskie season kicked off June 21st and within 5 weeks we’ve had several 50″+ fish caught and released on Pipestone Lake! Musky are being caught on bucktails, bulldogs, topwater and suicks. The hot colour so far for bucktails has been silver and numerous colours of the bulldogs, topwater and suicks have be successful.
